The woodboarer is often called as woodboring beetle. The term woodboring beetle encompasses
many species and families of beetles whose larval or adult forms eat and destroy wood (i.e., are
xylophagous). Larval stages of some are commonly known as woodworms.

Genuine infestations are far more likely in areas with high humidity, such as poorly-ventilated crawl spaces. Baiting is an effective way of controlling rats and mice. In this an attractive food for rats is mixed with poison. Pecopp uses special anti-coagulant rodenticides mixed with a bait material that is very attractive to rodents. This method is more effective as rodents do not die immediately, but about four days after feeding. Therefore, the remaining rats do not know that it is a poison and do not become bait-shy and the entire population of rats starts eating the bait. Baits need to be checked and replaced periodically to ensure that sufficient bait is available for all the rats to eat and die.<\/p>

TRAPPING<\/strong>
Snap traps and glue boards can be useful in situations using poison baits can be hazardous \u2013 like pharmaceutical units, food processing units etc. This also prevents the possibility of rat dying in an inaccessible place from where it cannot be easily removed. This method is effective when the place is infested with a limited number of rodents.<\/p>

Mosquito control is the task of managing the population of mosquitoes to reduce their damage to human health, economies, and enjoyment of mosquito-ridden areas. SOURCE REDUCTION<\/strong>
Since many mosquitoes breed in stagnant water, source reduction can be as simple as emptying water from containers around the home. This is something that homeowners can accomplish without much difficulty. For example, homeowners can eliminate mosquito breeding grounds by removing unused plastic pools, coolers, old tires, or buckets; by clearing clogged gutters and repairing leaks around faucets; by regularly changing water in bird baths and by filling or draining puddles, swampy areas, and tree stumps. Eliminating such mosquito breeding areas can be an extremely effective and permanent way to reduce mosquito populations without resorting to insecticides. We will advise the society about potential mosquito breeding sites during routine inspections that can then be acted upon by local facility management team.<\/p>


THE SERVICE METHODOLOGY<\/strong><\/p>

For the individual home owner:<\/strong>
LARVICIDING
<\/strong>Control of mosquito larvae can be accomplished through use of larvicides, growth regulators, and surface films. We will use the same in any potential breeding points in your home.<\/p>

SPRAYING<\/strong>
<\/strong>In this treatment, we spray a colourless and odourless insecticide on the walls. This insecticide is harmless for human beings. The mosquitoes sit on the wall, come in contact with the insecticide and die. This treatment frequency is either three months or one year annual contract (AMC).<\/p>

3 Month Contract: We will come twice in the first month and then do a follow-up once a month for the remaining two months.<\/p>

Annual Contract: We will repeat the above process every quarter.<\/p>

FOGGING<\/strong>
Control of adult mosquitoes is the most familiar aspect of mosquito control. It is accomplished by ground-based applications or via aerial application of chemical pesticides such as thermal fogging. It is advisable to get the General Disinfestation (GD) treatment done at regular intervals as lizards, spiders & crawling insects can always reinfest from the surroundings. The treatment is carried out by spraying insecticide in every crack and crevice of the premises to reach all the hidden parts.<\/p>

All utensils, containers, raw and cooked food should be removed from the kitchen (or from the area for making tea etc. in offices) and kept on the dining table or in the middle of the drawing room or some other room. They should be covered with an old bed-sheet or newspapers so that the insecticide does not accidentally fall on them.<\/p>

The insecticide reacts with plastic and silver. Hence all plastic and silver articles should be kept away under cover. Please cover all the plastic articles such as TV, Computers, Audio Systems, and Telephone Instruments etc. Do not close the windows. Contrary to popular belief, crawling insects do not die by inhaling the vapour of the insecticide. They die when they come in contact with the insecticide. Keeping the windows closed is harmful for the persons who are inside the premises at the time of this treatment.<\/p>

After the treatment, leave the place undisturbed for about two hours. After two hours wipe the surfaces that have been sprayed with our insecticide, with a dry cloth only. Do not wash those surfaces for about two days. Thereby the residual effect of the insecticide will not be reduced. The crawling insects, which may not have been reached at the time of spraying the insecticide, come out from their places of hiding at night. When they move over these surfaces that have been sprayed with insecticide, they die. The crawling insects, which have remained in hiding during the treatment, are killed within 3-4 days after the treatment.<\/p>
